The short version: Regulate does not collect or store your personal data on our servers. The only network traffic is optional AI Coach messages, which are forwarded to third-party language-model providers without any personally identifying information attached.
None on our side. Regulate has no user accounts, no analytics, and no server-side storage of your data. We do not know who you are.
Regulate stores the following data locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework:
This data never leaves your device. It is not synced to any cloud service. If you delete the app, all data is permanently deleted.
If you enable HealthKit integration (optional, off by default), Regulate:
Both permissions require your explicit consent via Apple's HealthKit prompts and can be revoked any time in the iOS Settings app.
If you use the AI Coach feature, the text of your message and a minimal summary (tribe name, current streak, 7/30-day HRV average if HealthKit is enabled) is sent through a Cloudflare Worker we operate, which forwards the request to one of these third-party language-model providers: Groq, Cerebras, or OpenRouter. We do not store the prompts, responses, or any identifier on our Worker. The third-party providers handle requests under their own privacy policies:
No user account or device identifier is attached to these requests. If you do not use the AI Coach, no prompts leave your device.
When you start a breathing session, Regulate POSTs a single string — your tribe label (one of stone, flame, tide, or veil) — to our Cloudflare Worker. The worker increments an anonymous per-tribe daily counter (stored with a 14-day TTL) so the home screen can display "how many in your tribe are practicing today". The home screen also reads the four counters back via a GET request. No user identifier, no install UUID, no IP, and no timestamp beyond the day bucket is sent or stored. The counter is a pure aggregate integer per tribe per day and cannot be used to identify any individual.
Regulate Pro subscriptions and the one-time Lifetime purchase are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or purchase history.
Regulate does not integrate any analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs. The only outbound network calls are: (1) Apple's StoreKit for subscription validation, (2) the AI Coach proxy (only when you actively use it), and (3) the anonymous tribe heartbeat described above.
Regulate is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. The app does not collect personal data from any user on our servers.
If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update this page. Given that we don't collect data, changes are unlikely.
